From My Heart

I Will Not Be Shaken

“The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” 2 Chronicles 6:9

There will be distractions and the enemy will attempt to entice you. There will always be things that appear to be more important or more appealing. But if you listen to the still small voice speaking to you; telling you something is not right you will not be distracted. You will do what needs to be done. It’s time to go with your first love, the Lord! He delights in you!

I have had much to do this summer. The Lord made it clear to me where He was working and where I needed to be involved. But it seemed that whenever I got focused on things of the Lord something would crop up to divert my attention. Sometimes it was loud, ungodly music from my neighbor’s house. Or a phone call that came just as I was working on plans for the mission team. A few times it was a disturbing email or maybe just a thought that I forgot to start a load of laundry. Whatever it may have been any particular day I had to resolve myself to get back to what I knew the Lord had for me to do. God has been at work in Salmo this summer through the obedience of His people. He has been strengthening the hearts of those who are fully committed to Him. Connection 2010 is complete. However the work has just begun. Many seeds have been planted, others have been watered. Luke 10:2 tells us “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” The Lord sent many workers to help us with Connection 2010 from Immanuel Bible Church & Sandia Baptist Church. Hutch & I are very thankful for that. We are praising God for sending willing hearts and hands. Now it’s time for Salmo Baptist and other churches in Salmo to work the fields that were planted.

The frustration and disappointment will come about. Distractions have already been thrown in front of us. But then I remembered Who is in charge, Who I belong to, Who loves me more than I can imagine, Who made the ultimate sacrifice for my sin. With that in mind, any sacrifice I make seems insignificant. “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.” Timothy 2:15

Compromise is not an option. I am excited, honored, and humbled to be about His work
As the lyrics from Vineyard’s I will not be shaken says…………….
Keep my eyes on you Lord. I will not be moved. Keep my feet on the ride. I will not be shaken.
